Real Name: UnknownThough it has not yet been revealed how the two met, Mystique used to be in love with Professor X, long before he founded the X-Men. However, the relationship brutally ended when Xavier got into an affair with a much younger Emma Frost. When Mystique discovered this, she first attacked Xavier in a monster's form and later shouted he and Emma deserved each other.
After that, Mystique left the mansion and at some point met Magneto. She joined his Brotherhood, and it appears may have become his lover as well. After Magneto got arrested and imprisoned inside the Triskelion, Mystique had the mutant maker called Forge build a magnetic power duplicator for her. They first used it to make Polaris's powers go haywire, which got her sent to the Triskelion. Then, while the X-Men, the Ultimates and Polaris's boyfriend Havok tussled over Lorna's situation, Mystique and Forge broke into the Triskelion and helped their master escape. Magneto didn't make it far before being captured, and was returned to his cell. However, it was a ruse, as Mystique had agreed to transform into Magneto and use Forge's power duplicator to fool everyone into thinking she was Magneto, and the real Magneto actually escaped.
Mystique impersonated Magneto and fooled everyone for a while, including his own children. Then, Mastermind made a visit to Magneto’s cell and replaced her. Mystique went to rejoin Magneto in the Savage Land. It is highly doubtful she is going to come back for Mastermind.
