Codename Etymology: Pronounced fôrj [From Latin, faber: "worker"]; A hearth where metal is heated. Powers & History: Forge can build anything he can imagine. He has a bionic leg which he presumably built himself. How he lost his leg is unknown. When Magneto made his second assault on humanity, Forge was recruited into the Brotherhood to build a machine that could amplify Magneto's power. For this task, Forge was promised control of Canada under Magneto's rule. When Forge found out that Magneto intended to wipe out the world, the inventor had second thoughts. He had no qualms with terrorism, but total genocide seemed to be where Forge drew the line. Still, he did little more than make an uneasy protest.
After Magneto's defeat, Forge remained with the Brotherhood, and under orders, installed a magnetic disruptor under a manhole in Chicago that caused Polaris's powers to flare out of control when she tried to help some firefighters. Lorna's outburst killed three men, and she was incarcerated with Magneto. Forge then aided Mystique in infiltrating the Triskelion, and provided Mystique with a magnetic power duplicator that let her mimic Magneto's powers, so she could replace him inside the prison. Forge was taken down by the X-Men and remanded to S.H.I.E.L.D. custody.
