Powers & History: Betsy is a telepath. She was part of the telepathic division of S.T.R.I.K.E., the British equivalent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Betsy was assigned to deal with David Xavier when the youth escaped from Muir Island. After David threw Wolverine in front of a truck and jumped out of his body, the juvenile possessed Betsy. Upon revealing himself to the X-Men, David warped Betsy's body into his ideal version of his own. David also noted that Betsy had a lump in her breast, so she would have died soon anyway. Finally, Betsy wrenched control of her mind back from David for an instant, and Colossus smashed him/her with a truck, supposedly killing both of them. Betsy, however possessed the body of Kwannon, a comatose Asian woman, pushing her soul out of the body and allowing Kwannon to find peace while giving Betsy a second chance at life. Betsy was re-introduced to the X-Men at the party following their second defeat of Magneto.
After Xavier’s death, she showed up at the mansion, looking for a spot on the team. She explained that after her return, she tried to get back on with S.T.R.I.K.E, but her body was of a minor, so they would not let her back on, so Xavier had her doing shadow ops, keeping tabs on Mojo and the Fenris Twins. When she found out Scott had disbanded, she just about tore his head off. She jumped at the chance to join Bishop’s new team. During their attack on the Sentinel factory, she was held at gunpoint by the Fenris Twins and Bishop let it slip that she was/would be his wife, shortly before he killed them. He explained to her later that it was a slip of the tongue and, as far as they were concerned, it never happened.
