The premier mutant team, once the students of Charles Xavier
and led by Havok himself, the X-Men are now led by their
erstwhile nemesis, Magneto. Magneto assumed control
of the team when Xavier was apparently corrupted by the Shadow King and left the
team. This move prompted Havok to form X-Factor, which became The
Six. When Havok of our universe first got to this reality, the X-Men were
in the Shi'ar Galaxy helping them and the Kree.
They appear to be true heroes, with no "evil taint" due to their leader's past,
as Havok had originally feared. However, not all of them may be satisfied with
his leadership. The X-Men were thought killed in a tactical nuclear strike blamed
on the Friends of Humanity, but were in reality
saved by Apocalypse. After the defeat of Xavier
himself, who had turned to evil, the team relocated to a base on the moon. The
X-Men comprise the following people:
![]() Magneto | Master of magnetism and arguably one of the most powerful people on Earth. He leads the X-Men with iron discipline, but is fundamentally a good man. He went all out to save the Shi'ar from some menace and consequently was visibly weakened during the fight with the Goblin Queen. However, with his children's support he managed to lead the Allies to victory. Later, he revealed himself again to Havok (who thought he had been killed) and helped in the fight against Xavier before leaving to his moon base. |
![]() Quicksilver | Fastest man alive, but unlike our Pietro, this Quicksilver is his father's right-hand man and chief lieutenant. His costume is aerodynamically sculpted armor, as is his helmet. He has yet to remove said helmet, leading to the possibility that he is scarred or deformed underneath it. One response in a letters page called it a "containment suit," so it's possible that Pietro has radiation or some sort of disease, or that the suit keeps his molecules from flying apart due to his speed. |
![]() Polaris | Her mutant powers also revolve around magnetism, but this version of Polaris still believes herself to be Magneto's daughter. The similarities in their powers mean that Polaris sometimes covers for Magneto. When he's too worn out to act physically, Lorna still makes it seems as if her father is at his peak. |
![]() Mystique | Little is known of this version of Mystique, but it is possible that she is also her Rogue's foster-mother, as well as Nightcrawler's mother, given the familial cast that this X-Men team has taken. Her "natural" form appears to be some silvery metallic skin, although that may simply be an armor she morphs into for protection. She tends to take the shape of dead or inactive heroes, probably to lessen confusion around her teammates. Whether she can duplicate powers is unknown, as is whether she has any limits to her shape-shifting abilities. |
![]() Nightcrawler | This Kurt Wagner is much more of the Errol Flynn swashbuckler than our Nightcrawler ever was, right down to the breeches and the moustache and beard. He looks like he just stepped out of a pirate movie, and he carries two swords with him all the time. He has the ability to teleport as well, of course. |
![]() Rogue | The most troubled of this batch of X-Men, Rogue has the ability to absorb memories and powers with just a touch of skin. Unfortunately, this talent is a curse, and was exploited by Selene, the Black Queen, who made Rogue drain Colossus's energy, leaving him comatose and Rogue in a constant metallic state. Rogue also has the powers and costume of Ms. Marvel, so it can be assumed that she had a run-in with her similar to the one our world's Rogue had. She seems to have issues with the way Magneto runs the team. |
