Ice-Man

Real Name: Robert Drake
Affiliation: The Six
Previous Affiliations: X-Men, X-Factor, Champions
Relatives: William (father), Madeline (mother)
Powers: Ice-Man has the same powers as Iceman from our universe, and much of is history is the same. When Bob's power first manifested, his parnets tried to hide them from the neighbors, due to prevalent anti-mutant sentiment. But when Bob used his powers to defend himself and his girlfriend from a gang, a mob formed, and was about to lynch him (and his family) when the sherrif took Bob into "protective custody." Professor Xavier got wind of what happened, and sent Havok to offer Bob a place at the School for Gifted Youngsters. Bob and his family accepted, and he became a charter member of the X-Men. He left briefly to join his pal, the Angel, in the short-lived Chmapions team, but then returned to the X-Men. When Magneto took over the school, however, a rift developed between the original team and their leader, and they left. Bob became a founding member of the government's X-Factor team, and helped fight a public battle against mutant oppression. His good looks and easy-going manner helped a lot, and he was probably the team's most popular member, especially sincce he looked so "normal." However, all of that changed. Ice-Man was attacked by Loki, and put into a condenser, which increased his moisture powers a thousand-fold, and with which Loki hoped to amplify the power of the Frost Giants. As a result of this ordeal, Bob has absolutely no control over is temperature, which is constantly well below freezing. The slightest touch of his "skin" to another human would instantly kill. Beast, Ice-Man's good friend, went to work immediately on the problem, and soon developed a cure. Unfortuanately, during this time, Havok had an affair with Susan Richards of the Fantastic Four. Ice-Man became close with Madelyne Pryor-Summers, who was understandably distressed when she discovered her husband's infidelity. However, while Alex's affair soon ended, he was jealous of his wife's friendship with Bob, even though it had never moved beyond the platonic. So Alex plotted to destroy Bob's chance at becmoing normal when Hank was ready to proceed with the treatment, and he blew up the chamber. Unfortunately, while Bob escaped unharmed, Hank was caught in the explosion and the chemicals that spilled on him made him lose his intellect and he became the Brute. Ice-Man later fell under the sway of Madelyne's Goblin Queen persona, and she was able to turn him human again. Once she was defeated, though, Bob turned to ice again. Recently, Brute regained his intellect and he now believes that he can finish his treatments to restore Ice-Man to a normal state.
