The Fallen

Real Name: Warren Kenneth Worthington III
Affiliation: None
Previous Affiliations: The Six, X-Men, X-Factor, Champions
Aliases: Death, Angel, Avenging Angel
Relatives: Warren Jr. (father, deceased), Kathryn (mother, deceased), Warren Sr. (grandfather, deceased), Burt (uncle)
Status Widowed (Candace "Candy" Southern-Worthington, wife)
Powers: Like our Earth's Angel, The Fallen had great feathered wings growing out of his back, which manifested themselves during his teens. Warren became a costumed crimefighter, the Avenging Angel, and came to the attention of Professor Xavier, who invited Warren to join the X-Men as the Angel. Warren was a member of the team for a while, but when his parents died, he moved to the West Coast and used some of his family's fortune to finance the Champions super-group. He also married his girlfriend, Candy Southern, who helped him run the group as a business. When X-Factor began to form, Warren returned to New York, and helped found the team. Unfortunately, Apocalypse kidnapped Warren, and altered his DNA to turn him into his "Horseman of Death." Angel's feathered wings were replaced by huge bat wings, his fingers ended in razor-like claws, and he gained the ability to breathe fire. Warren's personality also changed, and he became colder and more aloof. The last straw was Candy's death, which although it freed him from Apocalypse's control, plunged him into deep despair, especially since he blamed himself. Calling himself "The Fallen," he vanished. His whereabouts during that time are still a mystery, but he returned as the Six were forming, seemingly in a bid for redemption. Unfortunately, his cold demeanor and violent actions seemed to contradict this, and made his teammates uncomfortable. He joined the Goblin Queen in her bid for world domination, saying that her agenda meshed with his. He was the only member of the Six that did not need to be controlled, as he was already evil. The Fallen disappeared after the Goblin Queen's defeat, and reappeared leading the Four Horsemen as Death. With the revelation that Apocalypse was working with Havok and Magneto for years to oppose Charles Xavier's megalomania, though, the true "evilness" of The Fallen is in question. However, he may have worked for Xavier at one point.
