Synopsis: Hollywood in the early 21st Century. The Sentinels have overthrown the government, and the populace lives in squalor and fear. Picking her way through the shattered streets and wretched sould is Jubilee, one of the last free members of the outlaw X-Men. Thanks to dampeners designed y the Beast , she is not detected by the robot patrols as she bring what little food she could find to her comrades Synch and Leech. Jubilee expresses regret at not having been with the other X-Men when they were captured, but Ev caringly reminds her that being there would only have gotten her captured or killed. He believes she'll eventually figure a way to break their friends out. Suddenly, the roof is torn open by a pack of Sentinels on a raid. Leech's power is useless here, so he dodges around blasts and fists. Jubes and Synch team up to attack the Sentinels, but the robots are too resilient.to be damaged.

Then the Sentinels spark violently and collapse, and Magneto himself descends from above. Magnus has come to see Jubilee, so that she can help him find Wolverine, adding that the fate of billions rests on this mission. In Moscow, the Red Square black market bustles with activity, though everyone avoids the man known as Wolverine, and lets im pass without incident. Logan goes to the Dynamo Bar, knocks out the hardnose bouncer, and goes to the bartender, Dmitri Bukharin, once the armored Soviet agent called the Crimson Dynamo, now an aging bruiser with a robotic right arm. Logan says he's looking for a woman, and Bukharin tries to deflect, but Wolvie's not buying. He shows Bukharin a picture of an Asian girl, and fianlly gets an admission that she was in the bar talking to some engineers about a failed Hydra project, but she hasn't been back since. Logan refuses to tell who the girl is, and promises to take off Dmitri's other arm if his info proves false.

Logan leaves the bar and wonders what Amiko was doing with Hydra engineers, but that takes a back seat to his relief that she's still alive. He then notices that the street's emptied out all of a sudden, and then Hand ninjas attack him. Logan takes out the ninjas swiftly, but is grabbed from behind as he finishes. His assailant sends a charge into Logan's head and lets him drop, unconscious. Logan thinks of Amiko, and then his attacker tells her companion Midnight that Wolverine is no longer a threat and they depart, leaving him for the scavengers.

In Los Angeles, Jubilee and her friends are unnerved by Magneto's request that Jubilee tell him where Logan is. The bad blood between Magnus and the X-Men, especially Wolverine, still runs deep. Magneto doesn't apologize, stating self-defense, but when pressed, reveals that he's aking for help because of all the natural diasasters that have been occurring of late due to some mystery organization's evil actions, and to stop them will require Logan's stealth. Jubilee then tells Magneto about Amiko and the trip to Russia, but she won't tell him exactly where - she will go with him and lead the way. The is one condition - if they succeed, Magneto must help break the X-Men out of their camp. Magnus agrees, but Everett's not happy and wants to go with them. Jubilee reminds them about their mission to contact the Resistance in Portland, then kisses Ev and leaves.

Later, on a plane controlled solely by Magneto's power, Jubes asks him about what happened in Genosha. Magneto gets very agitated and warns her never to mention that again...

In Washington, the Master Mold Tribunal orders Baron Zemo to use his Thunderbolts shock troopers to find Magneto by finding the human members of the Resistance. Zemo offers an alternative, but is told not to question his masters. He reluctantly agrees.

In Russia, Jubilee uses a tracking device scavenged from a Sentinel's head to locate Logan. As they get closer, they find the bodies of dead and wounded street trash, some of whom can still speak of "an animal," which Jubilee knows must be Logan. Sure enough, Wolverine's there, but he jumps down on them from above in a mindless rage. Only Magneto's power is able to restrain Logan, now that he once again has adamantium bones. Jubilee tries to get through to Logan, but his mind's not there. Magneto says he can think of only one person who might be able to help...

Elsewhere, the latest Black King of the Hellfire Club surveys his domain, and the chaos his machiations have wrought. Midnight and the other agent enter and report on a completed mission. Shinobi wonders if Logan realized who had attacked him, and Psylocke replies yes, but only at the last instant. He did not know that she is now the Red Queen! Shinobi laughs and proclaims that the reestablishment of the Council of the Chosen is nearly complete!
