"Earth 4935"

2000 years from now, the High Lord Apocalypse rules the Earth with an iron fist. It is to this future that Rachel Summers, the Phoenix, came when she entered the timestream to save Captain Britain. In short order, she made herself the enemy of Apocalypse, and established a group of freedom fighters. Their name was the Clan Askani, meaning "family of outsiders." Though the Askani were eventually destroyed, they succeeded in saving the one man who could defeat their ageless foe: Nathan Christopher Summers, plucked from the present to become the warrior known as Cable. These are their stories.

Point of Divergence: Apocalypse defeats the Twelve, absorbs Nate Grey and becomes an all-powerful despot with nearly infinite power levels.

Points of Interest:

  • This alternate reality may be in the same timeline as the X.S.E. (See Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix LS #1)
  • Though Apocalypse apparently rose to power in the late 20th Century, he seems to have bided his time for hundreds of years before launching his attack on the Xavier Collective and enslaving the world
  • Other groups active in this timeline include the Order of Witnesses, the Scions of Genetics and the New Canaanites (who came to power after Apocalypse died)
  • The events of Cable #25 were not recalled by Cable himself upon his trip into the future, indicating perhaps another divergent timeline may have been created
  • This timeline was said to be negated when Cyclops took X-Man's place as the host of Apocalypse, sending Rachel Summers to the end of time instead of to this future, so she never actually became the Mother Askani.
