Synopsis by SGuthrie19:
Callisto has apparently been killed, her body thrown in the water, as Mystique has a fond reunion with her son, Nightcrawler before the two depart in her aircraft. On the Pale Riders' ship, Damask reveals a hidden attraction to Kurt, and tells Dead Man Wade that Moonstar didn't even like him, so it shouldn't matter to him that she killed her. When mother and son finally arrive at Cold Grey, Mystique's Antarctic station, Kurt confronts her about why she won't go to Avalon, and then accuses her of stripping the arrivals' possessions as her personal "tariff." Later, the pair travels in silence through the same tunnels Switchback crossed earlier, and the hook up with Cain, who delivers them to Destiny and her adopted son, Douglas Ramsey. Mystique tells her that they have come not just to visit, but to take Destiny with them. Sometime later, the group arrives in Avalon Village, and Nightcrawler and Mystique are introduced to Switchback and informed of the vision Destiny had upon meeting her. Meanwhile, Damask and Dead Man Wade finally arrive in Avalon, but while the latter wants to see it all dead, the former marvels at it's beauty, having never been told that such a place could exist. Back in Destiny's home, Mystique explains the need to confirm the truth of Bishop's claims, when the wall explodes, destroyed by a rocket launcher from a short distance away. Kurt requests Cain to join the battle, but his repeated prodding causes Cain to have an aneurism from the strain of his deep-seated bloodlust combined with his vow not to commit anymore violent acts. As Dead Man Wade continues to destroy the village, Damask finally turns on him and Nightcrawler arrives to teleport off his head. Damask announces that she is officially joining the people of Avalon, and when Switchback asks about the ammunition of Mystique's weapons, she explains that the bullets are called, appropriately, "X-Calibre."
