Synopsis by SGuthrie19: Guided down an underground river, the mutant Switchback, a native of Detroit, hooks up with the monstrous Cain, who delivers her to the safe haven and paradise known as Avalon. Meanwhile, as Sentinels patrol overhead, Warren Worthington III, also known as the Angel, makes his rounds through his nightclub Heaven. When he enters his private quarters, he has a particularly heated meeting with Nightcrawler, who demands the location of the start-off point to Avalon. Angel eventually complies, and directs Kurt to an old Stark Holdings warehouse. Magneto, in the interim, has finally managed to communicate with Kurt's mother, Raven Darkholme, more often called Mystique. After a few none-too-subtle threats, she agrees to meet with Nightcrawler and shepherd him to Avalon. When Kurt arrives at the warehouse, he is greeted by John Proudstar, who explains that it has been turned into a church for the Ghost Dance, people who perform rituals in hopes for the erasure of Apocalypse from the world. Kurt removes one of Proudstar's fingers and then asks him to move him along his way. Unbeknownst to either of them, Danielle Moonstar has heard the entire conversation, and after she destroys an Infinite and returns to Apocalypse's sanctum, she reveals the location of Avalon: the Antarctic. Apocalypse requests that Damask take Moonstar and Dead Man Wade as her Pale Riders and tells them to follow Kurt to Avalon. And, while Nightcrawler is finally en route, Cain manages to deliver Switchback to Destiny, who has a horrifying vision of the future.
