Synopsis by Jeff Harris:
In the snowy mountains somewhere in Europe, the electronic eyes of a cyborg pick up a reading--once again it's the Alpha class mutant known as Weapon X. Dead Eye tries to ambush him with his plasma blasts, but his legs are chopped from beneath him before he can do any real damage. Mangle, another cyborg, grabs him with his tendril arms, but after Logan removes his deadly appendages and his head, he's pretty much useless for the time being. Moments later, Logan completes his trek to Wundagore Mountain, the original site of Magneto's school for young mutants, and remembers the good times he spent there. He is awakened from his reverie by the arrival of Carol Danvers, a woman he knows back from when she was part of Air Force Intelligence and Space Agency Security before she worked with the Human Defense League. Weapon X asks if the mysterious sage known as Gateway is still there, and decides to pay him a visit. In London, the Council witnesses more of the atrocities that have been committed in America, and they are even more set on fulfilling their plans. However, they are a bit worried about the behavior of Braddock as of late, but he is intent on traveling with them in their strike. Back on Wundagore, Logan and Carol find Gateway absorbing information as he considers himself the "repository of the knowledge of humanity". Logan interrupts this process, and is delivered a big of a psi-shock as a result before he tries to convince his strange friend to assist him in piloting the Council's lead airship in the nuclear strike, but he refuses. Just then, the combined Mangle and Dead-Eye come in, weapons bared, but Carol and Weapon X blow them up before they can do any real damage. And just when they think they are safe, Vultura, a female winged cyborg with talons, and the worse-for-wear Pierce in a plane arrive for more cyborg-shredding fun. Luckily Gateway teleports them aboard the aircraft and while Logan takes care of the dive-bombing Vultura, Carol stops Pierce from killing her friends by tossing them both out the plane's emergency exit and blowing them up with a grenade. At this point, Gateway is at least willing to come to London and listen to the Council's viewpoint.
