Synopsis by Jeff Harris:
Later on the coast of Bristol, Logan searches frantically for Jean after she disappeared that morning. He soon finds her aiding the evacuated humans entering the continent. On the sidelines, Pierce, Clegg and Slocum, some of Apocalypse's lackeys, are watching the proceedings as the alarm goes off on the weapons scanner. The guards are surprised that they can't find any weapons in the preliminary search, but that's because the man who came through was none other than Box of the Brotherhood, closely followed by Copycat. Both had escaped after their fruitless attempt to stop the evacuation of Maine (see Amazing X-Men #2). They immediately whip out high-powered weapons and kill tons of innocents before Jean psi-fries Vanessa and Weapon X claws Jeffries. Logan leaves, knowing that Jean still does not approve of the doomsday strike and may do something drastic to get that information across the sea. Back in the High Council's main dirigible, Logan talks to Mariko Yashida who first brings up their past encounters in which he had mainly been in Japan for business with her father Shingen. Then she tries to convince him of the horrible side-effects of the Council's decision, but they are interrupted by an attack by Pierce and his altered human "pretty boys". The group maliciously disposes of the ship's staff, destroys the vital analog guidance system for their attack, and then turns their attention to Logan who drops in. He easily gets rid of Clegg and Slocum and then the ship blows up and crashes into the city below; the only person the Council can see walking out of the Inferno is Logan who felt Jean's goodbye through the psi-link and quickly races after her on motorcycle. He hops on the wing of the plane and tells her that she shouldn't go back and expose the Council's plans, but when she gives him the chance to kill her, of course he refuses, and she ends up making it to New York (see Factor X #3 & 4).
