Real Name: Ororo MunroeOroro Munroe was orphaned in Cairo as a child and became a pickpocket in order to survive. Her powers manifested and she was immediately praised as a goddess. This would not last as Apocalypse’s aim for world domination would eventually lead Storm to ally herself with Magneto. Ororo became a founding member of Magneto’s X-Men and a firm believer in his dream of a peaceful coexistence. During one of her many battles with Apocalypse’s forces, Storm was captured, marked with a tattoo over her eye and placed in the pens. Fortunately, the pure strength of both her mind and her powers allowed her to break free and escape. Over the years, Storm not only fought alongside Magneto as an X-Man but also fell in love with his son Pietro (Quicksilver).
When Magneto put his master plan to restore the timeline in motion, Storm was part of Quicksilver’s team to assist in a human evacuation of Maine. In order for the Sentinel escorts to even reach Maine, Storm created a squall immense enough to temporarily black out Apocalypse’s defense monitoring tower. She then followed the Sentinels back to Maine. Their mission was further complicated by the arrival of Arclight’s Brotherhood of Chaos, who alerted the Sentinels of the X-Men’s presence. To buy her fellow X-Men time, Storm flew into the sky and created a massive electrical disturbance that scrambled the Sentinel’s scanners. She then accompanied Quicksilver as he battled the newest Horseman, Abyss to rescue the life of a small boy.
Storm and the team returned to the X-Mansion victorious only to discover it empty. Quicksilver discovered that Magneto and Bishop had been captured and taken to different locations. Knowing that Magneto would rather have his son rescue Bishop than himself; Quicksilver, Storm and Banshee went to the Madri Temple in Quebec to retrieve Bishop. Storm single-handedly broke in and rescued Bishop from the Madri Priests and the two began to fight their way out of the temple. Bishop and Storm would’ve surely died against the overwhelming power of the Madri if Quicksilver and Banshee had not succeeded in shutting down the original Jamie Madrox.
One year after Apocalypse’s defeat, Storm led Magneto’s new team of X-Men, dedicated to bringing the followers of Apocalypse to justice. As field leader, Storm fought against the Hellions, Morlocks, Guthrie Siblings and the Sinister Six. During the battle against the Sinister Six, Storm was unable to save her longtime team-mate Gambit and was forced to see her lover Pietro die protecting Magneto. Storm’s loyalties and faith in a peaceful coexistence bet were unshaken by these events and she remained an X-Man.
