Cerebra's Files: Age of Apocalypse

Pierce

Full Name: Donald Pierce
Affiliation: Leader of Cyborg Humans
Status: Deceased (Weapon X)
Alternate-X Versions: (616)
Codename Etymology: Pronounced pîrs [From Old French percier, probably from Latin pertusus past participle of pertundere "to thrust or bore through," from per- "through" + tundere "to beat, pound"]; To bore through.
Powers & History: None (human). However, he was given increased strength, durability and the ability to transform his fingers into extendable razor sharp weapons due to cyborg enhancements provided by Apocalypse.

Under Apocalypse’s orders, Pierce led a team of enhanced humans to London with orders to cripple the Human High Council. Pierce and his team hijacked one of the council’s dirigibles and tried to crash it into the airship containing the guidance system for the council’s nuclear attack on the United States. By destroying the guidance system, the council would be unable to launch their pre-emptive strike on Apocalypse. Weapon X tried to stop Pierce’s plan but failed and the guidance system was destroyed.

Pierce survived the crash and followed Weapon X to Wundagore Mountain. While there, he tried to destroy Weapon X, Carol Danvers and Gateway by bombing them from a plane. Gateway teleported the three away just in time to Pierce’s plane. Using another of his enhanced humans as a diversion, Pierce got the drop on Weapon X. However, Carol Danvers would not allow this and tackled him out of the plane. As the two fell, Carol sacrificed herself by detonating her grenades in hopes that Pierce would also be destroyed.

Pierce survived this as well due to his enhancements and even turned Carol into an enhanced human against her will. With the assistance of a mind-controlled Carol, Pierce attacked the human armada yet again in hopes of crippling it. This time the plan involved killing Gateway because without him, the armada could not be teleported into Apocalypse’s air space. He was finally stopped and killed by Weapon X, who took Pierce by surprise by skewering him with the claws from his removed hand.
