Synopsis: In the Negative Zone, Blink stares down her attacker, then does some fancy gymnastics to topple him and grab his gun. Verbal sparring continues, and then he grabs the gun and uses it to choke her. A well-placed back-kick to the groin staggers him and then Blink somehow gets on top of his shoulders and squeezes his head between her knees like a zit until he yields. Clarice, who is totally amnesiac right now, just wants some answers, not a fight. The guy is happy to hear that she's not an adversary and gives her a giant bear hug. Start cheesy romantic music here (though Clarice tells him to back off). Suddenly the asteroid they're standing on erupts with lava, so the guy calls for his winged camel-horse and they ride/fly off. Turns out the guy's name is Ahmyor and he's pro-Annihilus, the former leader of the Negative Zone, who was deposed by Blastaar, a base villain. Clarice still can't remember who she is, but she agrees to help when Ahmyor sees people in trouble. It's Blastaar's goons, terrorizing a bunch of old folks. Ahmyor jumps off his mount, leaving Clarice hanging - literally. She makes do, though, and enters the fray. She gets distracted, but Ahmyor saves her bacon with a headshot to the Baluurian coming up behind her. Then instinct takes over and Blink uses her power to shift the remaining baddies out of there. Ahmyor wants to know how she did that, but Clarice doesn't really know. The old folks thank them and Ahmyor says that they must stop Blastaar from invading Earth. Clarice still has no memory, but deep down she feels that the fight in the Negative Zone is her fight too...
Review: Blech! Pathetic excuse for an issue. The art is still blah, though I admit Blink's cheescake nature was played up a bit more than in #1. But the plot is so dumb. First of all, who cares about what happened years ago in a dead timeline? Second, when your main character has amnesia, you know you're in trouble. And third, when the leading man's name is unpronounceable, the poop's hit the fan. I mean really, a choice between Annihilus and Blastaar? Who would trust a guy named Annihilus (root = annihilate) anyway? Could he really be benevolent in this timeline? It should be the same Negative Zone as our timeline, because I think the Negative Zone is outside of our timeflow (see Heroes Reborn). Actually, the fact that Ahmyor mentioned the FF as the ones who deposed Annihilus practically guarantees that it's not linked directly to the AOA timeline, because the FF never existed in AOA. Whatever. I'm hoping that when the plot piece that leads to the new Exiles series is revealed, this will all make sense, and the story will seem better, but I'm not holding my breath.
