Alternate-X Versions: Iron Man (616), Lord Iron (1602), Iron Man (Ultimate)
Codename Etymology: None
Powers & History: None (human). When Tony Stark was young, his genius and arrogance almost killed him in a foolish accident. Luckily he was mended by machines that allowed him to survive ever since, though he was required to wear a chestplate at all times to monitor his heart. Stark then used his great wealth to help less fortunate humans after Apocalypse rose to power. The Council sent Stark all the way to Wakanda to retrieve Dr. Donald Blake and return him to London. On this mission, he and his pilot Clint Barton assisted Gwen Stacy in defeating the Marauders. The four then headed back to London to greet rogue Horseman Mikhail. While there, Mikhail allowed Stark and company to inspect his airship as a showing of peace. While on the airship, they were betrayed and captured by Mikhail who intended to transform them all into loyal servants.

Tony Stark was the first of the humans to be experimented on. Knowing that their capture was likely, Tony Stark equipped himself with a mechanical disrupter that would short-circuit any electrical system trying to experiment on him. When Stark was experimented on, the disrupter was activated and all the humans were released from their imprisonment. Unfortunately, the activation of this disrupter resulted in the cardiac arrest of Tony Stark. Tony was then resurrected by Dr. Blake’s quick use of an adrenaline shot and the humans formulated a plan to defeat Mikhail. Tony and Gwen Stacy were to reach the airship’s bridge and take control of it. Tony Stark took control of the ship and his plan to rescue all the human captives took action as he tried to fly Mikhail’s armada into space, giving humans one last chance of peace among the stars. The only thing standing in their way was Apocalypse’s sea wall which would destroy them shortly. Stark managed to convince Bruce Banner (who had captured Stacy) to help him save all the humans from Apocalypse’s sea wall defenses. Using the combined knowledge of Tony Stark and Bruce Banner, airships carrying many humans managed to avoid Apocalypse’s sea wall and launch into space for one last hope of freedom.
