Real Name: Robert Bruce BannerBruce Banner was a gamma physicist developing alternative energy sources for use by the human resistance. He was working on a warhead project when the military base he was on was destroyed. Banner was only able to survive by transforming into the Hulk, probably an effect of the radiation. In his rage, he attacked Ben Grimm and Susan Storm. After being wounded by the pair, the Hulk fled and reverted back to his Banner persona. He was then found by Ben and Susan (who were looking for him) and apparently didn’t realize that he was also the Hulk.
The three then went to welcome rogue Horseman Mikhail to Eurasia. They met up with other resistance members Gwen Stacy, Doctor Donald Blake, Anthony Stark, Clint Barton and Victor Von Doom. They were all invited onto Mikhail’s warship to discover Banner had apparently betrayed them since he had been working for Mikhail all along. The other humans were captured to be changed into genetically advanced soldiers for Mikhail. When they escaped the testing, Tony Stark and Gwen Stacy went to the bridge of Mikhail’s ship. The Hulk ambushed them as they arrived and tried to stop Stark from taking control of the ship and evacuating humans into space. Tony convinced the Hulk that he was betrayed by Mikhail and after reverting back to Banner, helped him gain control of the ship. Whether they escaped into space safely is unknown.
