Synopsis by Jeff Harris:
In the tunnels beneath Manhattan, Alison Blaire and Paris Bennet, the X-Men also known as Dazzler and Exodus, find the regurgitated remains of Nanny, the robotic household help of Magneto that had been attempting to hide Charles from any of Apocalypse's goons. But Magneto's son is nowhere to be found, so the pair continues their search. Later, and throughout this issue, there is a scene set ahead of the majority of the events where Apocalypse questions Rictor about what happened in the tunnels, as he himself holds Charles Lehnsherr in his arms. Earlier, Lila and Gambit were running from Rictor's quakes which were ravaging the tunnels. They are trying to draw Julio after them and away from Guido and Jubilee who have the M'Kraan shard in their possession. The pair kisses and then continues to run, with Rictor in hot pursuit. Jubilee, on the other hand, is shown alone, carrying both the shard and Charles, running from another attacker who turns out to be none other than Strong Guy who was a sleeper agent for Apocalypse the whole time--he had been implanted with a device that would explode if he told everyone else what was going on. En Sabah Nur hoped that with his connections to Gambit, Guido could eventually get to Rogue and then Magneto. Then everything got even more messed up when they ran into Nanny, and he knew that he couldn't be led back to Xavier's and that's why he destroyed it. So Strong Guy claims that he still loves Jubilee, and then runs down the tunnels with both the baby and the shard. Back with the others, Gambit and Lila are trying to to catch up with their teammates because Remy heard Rictor say he could track them down. Gambit immediately knows something's fishy when he literally runs into Guido and Charles, without Jubilee. Rictor enters as well, and reveals Strong Guy's connections, and he tries to explain, but then Julio decides to kill them all. Luckily, or unluckily depending on how you look at it, Strong Guy saves Charles and the shard while Gambit rescues Lila. Later again, Apocalypse tells Rictor who the baby is and then promptly breaks his servant's death, then turns around to congratulate Guido, who was there the whole time. In the tunnels again, Dazzler and Exodus finally find Gambit and Lila and rescue them from the rubble, and then they begin to go back to the mansion, without the shard or the baby that they were all sent to find. Continued in Amazing X-Men #4.
