Codename Etymology: Pronounced ĕm'plāt [From Latin, in-: "in" + Greek, platus]; To cover with plates. Powers & History: Emplate could convert the genetically altered marrow of mutant bones into an energy form which he absorbs through the sharp-toothed mouths on his hands, sustaining him and letting him duplicate their powers. Additionally, Emplate scanned genetic auras to sense mutants and humans and maintains a psychic link with his sisters the Monets. Part of Sinister’s Elite Mutant Forces along with his sisters, Emplate was part of the group sent to track down Christopher Summers (Corsair) when he escaped from Sinister’s laboratory. Having cornered him, an overconfident Emplate let his guard down while approaching Corsair and was shot and killed at point-blank range by the escapee.
