Codename Etymology: Pronounced dăz'lər [Frequentative of "daze," from Old Norse, dasask: "to become weary"]; One who blinds with light.
Powers & History: Alison Blaire was an up-and-coming pop sensation when Apocalypse first attacked North America. Fearing for her life, Alison's father paid a mysterious to have her taken to a safe location. This woman turned out to be Mystique, who intended to dump the human girl as soon as possible. When Alison manifested her mutant powers, Mystique brought her to Magneto. After learning of the Scarlet Witch's sacrifice to stop Nemesis, Alison decided to become an X-Man to honour her memory.

Under the codename Dazzler, Alison joined Quicksilver's team to assist in a massive human evacuation. The team succeeded and returned to their hideout to find everybody missing. Dazzler and Exodus, her love and fellow X-Man, searched the underground passageways for survivors. It was there that they found Gambit and his Externals, who had failed in their mission of retrieving the M'Kraan Crystal.

After the fall of Apocalypse, Exodus went on a secret mission and never returned. Dazzler remains hopeful that her love will come back one day but also must move on with her life. She was a key member of the X-Men during the establishing of the Bureau of Mutant Affairs, and assisted in the capture of the Hellions and the defeat of the Sinister Six.
