Codename Etymology: Pronounced jĕ-sē bĕd'ləm [From Hebrew, Yishay: "gift (of God)"] [From Middle English Bedlem, corruption of Bethlehem, used as the popular name for the Hospital of Saint Mary of Bethlehem, London, an insane asylum.]; A state of confusion and chaos (obsolete: madman, lunatic).
Powers & History: Jesse Bedlam could psionically disrupt and disable mechanical or electrical devices. He appeared to project a focused field effect that could break locks or stop vehicles in their tracks, but was apparently localized in strength.

Jesse Aaronson and his brother Terry were invited by Sinister to become Prelates in Apocalypse’s forces and both accepted. The two brothers have a very close bond and would die defending the other. On one of Jesse’s frequent trips to the nightclub Heaven, Jesse used his mutant powers to defuse a terrorist attack by Henry Gyrich. While Jesse appeared to see how morally wrong the war was, he still followed his orders. When Prelate Cyclops and Jean Grey tried to free the pens, Jesse and Terry joined them. The two brothers fought off Cannonball and Amazon to allow Jean time to destroy the Brain Trust. Jesse then disappeared and his current whereabouts are unknown.
