Codename Etymology: Pronounced ə-rôr'ə [from Latin, aurora, "dawn"]; A phenomenon occurring in the northern and southern regions of the world in which bands and streams of light are apparent in the night sky. Also, the Roman goddess of the dawn.
Powers & History: Aurora has superhuman speed, the ability to fly and create bright flashes of light when in contact with her twin brother.
Jeanne-Marie Beaubier and her twin brother Jean-Paul were invited to join Apocalypse’s fight. Believing that they were vastly superior mutants, both accepted this offer and became high ranking Prelates. The twins were placed in charge of patrolling the grounds outside the holding pens. When Artemis and her team escaped from the pens, Aurora recaptured the escapee Phantazia. Phantazia begged Aurora to kill her rather than take her back to the pens but Aurora ignored this plea. When Cyclops helped Lorna Dane escape from Apocalypse’s holding pens, they were stopped by Aurora and Northstar. Cyclops and Polaris fought them and both Northstar and Aurora were both gravely injured and found comatose by Apocalypse’s troops.
After Apocalypse’s rule ended, Northstar and Aurora went to the Canadian wilderness where they slaughtered new human settlements for their supplies. They were then attacked and killed by Kirika and Weapon X.
