Synopsis by Jeff Harris:
Wildchild is being chased by an army of Infinites across the wilderness, and is shot down by one of their powerful blasts, and then Holocaust himself appears to arrive, confusing the soldiers who find it odd that he beat them to Chicago when he's the one that dispatched them from Indianapolis, but it is soon obvious that it was Morph all along, but it's too late for the Infinites as Shiro enters and destroys them all in one huge blast of atomic flame. Blink and Rogue teleport in, and Kyle quickly licks the former, transferring his memories of the battle and conversation to Rogue so that she knows where Holocaust has taken Victor. In the middle of a pouring rainstorm, Apocalypse's son drags a chained Sabretooth to his colossal Infinite plant and, after taunting him, slashes through his innards. Back with the others, Blink reminisces over her first memory of Creed when he and Logan saved her from a burning building, which is why she sees him as such a father figure. Sunfire's already spotted the plant, as Morph continues to joke and sing in his futile attempts to cheer them up. At the Xavier Estate, Magneto questions Bishop's resolve to kill Legion if he somehow manages to get to the past, when suddenly Nanny's automated defense systems engage, enveloping Charles in an omnium cocoon and retreating to the tunnels which can only mean that Apocalypse is coming. Holocaust surveys his troops as the X-Men arrive inside Morph who has shape-shifted into a whale, causing an ideal surprise entrance for the team, who quickly subdues one squad of Infinites. They get ready to take down the rest of the plant, when Blink disappears, discovering Sabretooth's broken body chained to a post outside the complex.
