Synopsis by Jeff Harris:At the opening of the second installment of this four issue limited series, Rogue is surrounded by a stampede of humans attempting to escape the condemned city of Chicago, which is being raided by first Apocalypse's probes, which will no doubt be followed by a legion of Infinites. Sunfire, nearly going mad from all the terror, reveals himself, only managing to make things worse as he destroys several of the probes, and Rogue is forced to absorb some of his power in order to stop him, and in doing so reveals the painful past. Apparently Shiro was nearly the only survivor of the massacre of the Japanese by Apocalypse and Nemesis, and was nearly killed by them, which is why he harbors such a grudge and animosity against them. Morph manages to catch them in mid-fall, and the threesome continue to evacuate the humans as quickly as they can. Back in Weschester, Bishop confronts Magneto, who is holding his sleeping son, Charles. Bishop first questions why Magneto is staying at home while the others are risking their lives, and then claims that Charles is an accident, but Erik responds by claiming that "love is never an accident" silencing Bishop for the time being. In Apocalypse's palace, the dark lord is getting seriously riled by the X-Men's success in Maine, but his mood is much improved when Rex shows him records of Magneto's base after his exhaustive search, and says that he will handle that mission personally. Meanwhile, Blink talks to her mentor Sabretooth, who is planning to go after Holocaust himself. While Clarice is saddened by this, she agrees to teleport him and Wildchild to where they need to do, but Rogue interrupts and is prepared to fight Victor to stop him, but Blink stuns Rogue by displacing her for less than a second with one of her darts, and then sends Sabretooth on his way. When he and Wildchild arrive in Indianapolis, the city already seems empty, and they are nearly immediately confronted by Holocaust. Knowing it isn't likely that he'll win the battle against Holocaust's body armor and enhanced abilites, Victor releases Kyle and sends him after the others once he has the information of where the Infinite processing plant is located, and fights Holocaust with no holds barred, even managing to break open part of his life support armor, but faints from his wounds as Holocaust's essence unfortunately recollects itself into the shell of armor.
