Powers & History: Warren Worthington III grew large white-feathered wings during puberty, which together with his lightweight bones, allowed him to fly. After Apocalypse took over the United States, Warren was wealthy enough to prevent Apocalypse from changing his lifestyle. Angel and his partner Karma ran the nightclub Heaven, a sanctuary for those who could afford it. He quite adamantly stated that he would not choose sides on this war and welcomed both humans and mutants into his nightclub. Unfortunately, Angel’s high life did not last forever. Angel’s downward spiral began with Gambit’s appearance in Heaven asking for Magneto’s whereabouts. Apparently, Warren owed Gambit so in return for him never coming back, Angel gave Gambit Magneto’s location. Little did he know that this conversation was witnessed by Sebastian Shaw. Shaw informed Apocalypse of this and Karma was abducted and tortured for information.

Things only got worse for Angel as he was visited by the X-Men Quicksilver and Nightcrawler, both of whom forced information from him. At the same time, Angel’s star performer Scarlett was arrested for being a spy for the Human High Council. Eventually, Heaven was no longer safe for Angel himself as Infinite soldiers came to arrest him for treason. Knowing this day would eventually come, Angel used his escape plan to flee Heaven. He then went to rescue his captured partner but arrived too late to save Karma’s life. Angel vowed to exact revenge on Apocalypse for killing Karma.

Strapping on as much explosives as possible, Angel dive-bombed Apocalypse’s force field generator. This sacrifice allowed Magneto’s X-Men to enter Apocalypse’s stronghold and finally defeat the tyrant.
