Amazing X-Men #4
Synopsis by Jeff Harris:The Madri perform a ceremonial cleansing of Bishop, and Storm flies in, fighting them all off and and freeing Bishop. On the other side of the tabernacle, Banshee and Quicksilver infiltrate a room containing host body from which all the Madri duplicates originated, Jamie Madrox, now a crazed suicidal shell of what he once was. The two X-Men debate on what they should do with him, but can't really decide what is morally right and what will help their situation. Back in Weschester, The Astonishing X-Men (Sabretooth, Rogue, Blink, Morph and Wildchild) teleport in with Iceman and meet up with Colossus and Shadowcat who apparently successfully retrieved Piotr's sister Illyana, but at the cost of all their students' lives. Rogue, Creed, and Wildchild enter the tunnels to go after the others and find Charles, but Exodus and Dazzler are already back from their scouting mission, with Lila Cheney, Jubilee and Gambit in tow, all of which apparently know what happened to her son. In Quebec, Bishop and Storm are fighting a losing battle, still waiting for the assistance of the other part of their squad, but they are still debating about Madrox. Unfortunately, Abyss chooses this moment to return and kill the X-Men. Banshee uses his sonic powers to open Abyss wide and then flies into the void himself, heroically sacrificing himself, killing the horseman and destroying half the temple in the process. Pietro barely escapes with Jamie, but he kills himself, stopping the Madri in their attack and barely saving the ravaged Storm and Bishop, the former of which is grief-stricken about her friend's fate. At the Xavier Estate, Rogue is infuriated at Remy for leaving Charles with Guido (Strong Guy) who proved to be one of Apocalypse's spies. Exodus and Dazzler calm her down, as Nightcrawler, Destiny, and then the remaining Amazing X-Men arrive, set on invading Apocalypse's citadel, retrieving the shard of the M'Kraan Crystal that Gambit lost, saving Magneto and Charles, and ending the Age of Apocalypse once and for all.
