Amazing X-Men #3
Synopsis by Jeff Harris:
Magneto waits at the gravesite of his old friend Charles Xavier, remembering his dream and reflecting on the importance and impact he could've had on the world had he not been killed. Bishop arrives with a huge weapon (doesn't he always have one somewhere?) and chides Magneto for taking the time to reminisce, when they already know they've been scanned and that there's been a security breach. Magneto feels a disturbance in the electromagnetic field as a batallion of Infinites, led by the Vanisher arrives and then immediately departs again, leaving Magnus and Bishop to fight off the army alone. It was no problem for Magneto to take care of them all in one blow, but he knows that it was too easy. Suddenly a huge explosion rocks the area, and Apocalypse arrives, holding the now-unconscious Magneto. Bishop does his best to protect him, but ultimately fails as Magneto recovers somewhat and threatens to blow them both up with his reconfigured plasma rifle. Apocalypse proves him vulnerable by mentioning Charles and stating that he already has someone after him as well, and then takes the moment of hesitation to deal the final blow. Below, in the sewer tunnels, Nanny is ferrying Charles to safety when she is confronted by the Vanisher. Though the robot is not as helpless as she seems as she reveals a vast arsenal of defensive capability. Later, the X-Men arrive in the Brotherhood's Ark and investigate the area for any sign of Magneto, Bishop or Charles, coming up empty except for the corpse of the Vanisher Iceman found in the tunnels. Quicksilver sends Dazzler and Exodus down there to find them, and Iceman to locate Rogue's squadron and inform her of her missing husband, while he heads to New York. He attacks Angel at his luxurious suite and tries to force some information out of him, eventually discovering that while Magneto is being held prisoner in Apocalypse's citadel, Bishop has been taken to the Tabernacle of the Madri in Quebec, where he is being probed by the Shadow King to determine his identity and where he comes from. Bishop eventually rejects the psionic probes, and Abyss comes in, all in one piece and ready to protect the continued existence of this reality at all costs. Back at the remains of the Xavier estate, Quicksilver returns, set on going after Bishop rather than his own father which rather disturbs Ororo, but makes sense considering his importance in Erik's plan. He, Storm and Banshee take off in the Ark for Quebec to make an attempt to rescue their comrade.
