"Earth 928"

In the year 2099, the governments of the world, especially America, have been replaced by the Mega-Corps, enormous companies that control everything worth anything. Areas of civilization beneath their notice are called "Indie Towns" and are left to establish their own form of governing, if any.

A mysterious event wiped out most of Earth's Heroes early in the 21st century. The Great Purge followed years later, where mutants were systematically wiped out. The Mutant Underground Search Engine managed to save a select number, but large groups were eliminated.

For years the legendary super-beings were just that, mostly dismissed by the average citizen. Suddenly, in 2099, a new breed of hero emerged. Among these were the X-Men of Xi'an Chi Xan, and later, their charges: X-Nation.

Point of Divergence: Uncertain

Points of Interest:

  • Xi'an's X-Men were not the first to use the name since the days of Xavier. Other X-Men were founded by Del Ruiz and Zhao
  • After Thor's disappearance decades earlier, a new religion sprouted up similar to Norse mythology. These Thorites ranged from devout followers to deranged street gangs like the Fenris
  • Doom became President of the United States
  • Other super-beings of note include Ravage and new versions of Spider-Man, Doom, Punisher, Hulk, Ghost Rider, and the time-traveling original Fantastic Four
  • The Earth of 2099 was eventually flooded when the Phalanx returned and melted the polar ice caps. Survivors escaped with the Fantastic Four to the Savage Land
  • The final fate of many heroes, and the Earth itself, was thrown into confusion with the discovery of "2099: Manifest Destiny," which recorded a different set of events than appeared to occur based on the "World of Tomorrow" chronicles.
