Very little is known of Wanda's history. Her greatest significance seems to be her relationship to the deposed Grand Inquisitor.
She was the secret child of the Grand Inquisitor Enrique. She and her brother Petros did not learn of their parentage until many years later, if at all. Their mother is unknown. In her teen years, Wanda joined a convent, where she was given a scarlet habit. We can only speculate as to why she was clothed in such a unique color. Possibly it was a mark to acknowledge her unique abilities. In truth, she was a witchbreed, but it seems that, perhaps because of her piety, this was never suspected and it was assumed that her abilities were miraculous gifts of God.
She was later recruited by her own father (unknown to her), the Grand Inquisitor, to serve as his assistant. Her role in this position was somewhat passive and very little of her deeds are recorded. In at least one instance, she was able to perceive and disrupt the astral travels of Dr. Stephen Strange.
Some time later, the Inquisitor's schemes were foiled by betrayal. He and Wanda, along with her brother, Petros, were to be burned at the stake. At this point, Wanda used her powers in a more offensive manner, to aid in their breakout. The nature of her powers in this case is unspecified in the records available to us.
After their escape, the former Inquisitor and his assistants fled to the
new world. Enrique was then involved in the operation to send the
time-traveller, Rojhaz, back to his own time. After that climactic
event, Enrique went on to the witchbreed colony in Newfoundland, leaving
Wanda and her brother to train under Carlos Javier.
