Full Name: Alexander WilderAt the next Rite of Blood, he convinced the other kids to spy on their parents with him, and then they ran away from home together, forming the Runaways. He helped reveal the powers and weapons available to the others and became the team’s de facto leader. However, he left a note behind telling his parents that he was on their side, and would contact them occasionally to help them along. When the kids made their hideout in the Hostel, Alex was the only one who refused to take on a codename, claiming it he wanted to redeem his real name. In reality, it was a secret show of loyalty to his parents.
However, Alex fell in love with Nico after having not seen her for almost a year, forcing him to change his plans. He lured a vampire to the Hostel in order to toughen the team up for the final battle with their parents, but rejected the whole thing as a mistake when the vampire (Topher) kissed Nico. He constantly used his position and his friendship with the others to make them do things that allowed their parents to track them, including keeping them in Los Angeles instead of fleeing the city.
When Cloak and Dagger arrived, he made a secret phone call to Lieutenant Flores in order to make sure they didn’t take news of the Pride back to the Avengers in New York. He also led Flores to the Hostel the night before the Rite of Thunder, forcing them into a confrontation with their parents. Although the Runaways came out victorious with Alex and Karolina being the last people standing, Alex then turned on Karolina and knocked her out to try and guarantee his and Nico’s families being given the six spots in the next world by the Gibborim. However, Nico refused to go along with his plan and the Runaways fought back, with Alex’s main weakness (his inability to come up with a back up plan) exposed, and Molly was able to prevent the Rite of Thunder being completed. Alex, wanting to look like an adult, claimed responsibility, so the Giborrim fried him.
Nico originally displayed indifference to Alex’s death, but later revealed that she tried to use her powers to resurrect him, meaning that she can’t attempt to bring anyone else back to life. Although she claimed the spell didn’t work, it’s possible the Runaways haven’t seen the last of Alex yet.
It should be noted that Alex did leave instructions for his gaming pals to resurrect him, but they messed up and grabbed a younger version of his father Geoffrey out of the past instead. It was Geoffrey who posed as Chamber and worked with Excelsior.
