Ahab

Real Name: Dr. Roderick Campbell (alternate future?)
Affiliation: None (Hound Master)
Alternate-X Versions: Ages of Apocalypse
Codename Etymology: Pronounced ā'hăb' [Bible Uncle? (Father's Brother?)]; A Ninth Century B.C. Pagan king of Israel, but more relevantly, the one-legged whaling ship captain of Herman Melville's Moby Dick
Powers: None (cyborg), but his lances are somehow psionic in nature and cause whoever they hit to feel pain, die, or serve him. Ahab seems to be a future version of Rory Campbell, a geneticist who worked at Muir Island. In the future, Ahab creates the Hound Program, which genetically alters mutants, bonding them to his will, and forcing them to hunt down their own kind. His best Hound was Rachel Summers, although it was she who threw him into a computer bank and mangled his body. For a while, Ahab was a parapelegic in a floating chair, but after a few years he was given bionic arms, a leg, and an eye. Ahab later traveled back to the 20th century, following the astral form of the deceased adult Franklin Richards, and hoping to reclaim Rachel, who had fled from her horrible future. He managed to convert both Cyclops and the Invisible Woman into Hounds, and to effectively kill the combined forces of the original X-Factor, the remnants of the X-Men, the New Mutants and the Fantastic Four. Fortunately for the heroes, Franklin was able to restore them and defeat Ahab, sending him back to his own time. Years later, Rachel finally defeated Ahab by reprogramming the Master Mold of her future, causing the Sentinels to preserve all life, even Ahab's. Ahab could no longer harm anything. Since the appearance of Famine II, who has appeared in both a new costume and in Ahab's original gear, however, some doubt has been cast on the equation of Rory Campbell and Ahab, as well as Ahab's history in our timeline.
