Outside Belasco’s castle:
Explosions and fire come down on the attacking demons. The Sentinel Megatron is using all of it’s fire power including a massive machine gun, a laser beam and rockets firing while Hellion and Surge use their powers to keep the demons at bay. Lex who is inside the Sentinel tells them to get the castle. They refuse at first but eventually Hellion flies them to the castle.

Inside Belasco’s Courtyard:
Injured students’ weakly call for Belasco to stop while he his shouting at Dust. He summons a beam of green light, which knocks Dust away. Surge arrives and shocks Belasco with her electricity while she screams at him for killing David. Just as Belasco is about to attack her back Hellion smashes him to ground with his telekinesis. Hellion tells Surge to calm down also tells her that David is alive. Nori sees him but David shouts at her to watch out but it’s too late. Belasco is back up and knocks Hellion and Surge out with a huge burst of energy. He grabs Surge by the neck and stamps on Hellions’ head. He asks them where Illyana is but Hellion replies “Who?” which confuses Belasco. Then a pink light appears. All the kids from the wastelands appear in front of Belasco. Dust and Mercury confused to Santo’s appearance.

Belasco, now enraged screams at Illyana and she goes to attack him while ignoring Anole telling her not to. Rockslide intervenes and grabs Belasco by the neck. Belasco smiles and tells S’ym and his friends to kill them all. A huge battle breaks out as the student all use their powers to kill the attacking demons. Pixie asks Darkchild if she’s go and she tells her that she need the rest of her.. but she interrupted by Belasco who attacks them. He grabs Darkchild and tries to kill her but X-23 tops him by slashing him with her claws. Belasco asks her how many times must he kill her before she learns. X tells him that she has learned. And shows David with the Stepford Cuckoos now free form their helmets. The look through his mind to see why he brought them they’re in the first place. The learn that Illyana was special to him and when she died she tried recreate her but it wasn’t enough and now he’s looking for revenge. He did this because he loved her. Belasco now extremely angry lets a huge burst of power which knocks the kids flat and them explains that he will bring the whole of the Earth into Limbo until he finds her.

Outside The Castle:
Sentinel Megaton is still fighting the demons but is slowly loosing. Inside the Sentinel Ex tries to wake up Amanda. When he does he tells her that something’s happening in New York. Amanda explains that Belasco’s pulling Earth into Limbo.

The Sanctum Sanctorum:
Dr Strange and Spider-Man Spider-Man who is hanging from the ceiling is looking out of the window and tells Dr Strange that there are demons outside. Dr Strange tells him that this is bad and their dimensions are merging with another and he doesn’t know if he can stop it.

The Courtyard:
Rockslide, Surge and Hellion are attacking Belasco while Darkchild explains what Pixie has to do with her Souldagger. Rockslide is defeated while David prays for Nori to find a way of defeated Belasco. Belasco grabs Nori and tells it that ti will be a joy to kill the children of the X-Men. Pixie screams at him and stabs the Souldagger into his back. The Astonishing X-Men are released from their stasis while Belasco begs Darkchild top go back to him. She tells him that she made a Bloodstone just like her showed her. Belasco tells her that he will find her but Darkchild tells him he won’t and destroys him. Anole and Pixie ask Darkchild if she’s okay and if they can go home but she tells Pixie they can’t not until she’s finished what she started. The demons around them bow down to Darkchild and they ask why. Darkchild tells them that Limbo is her’s now and so is Pixie’s Soul. Anole begs her not to calling her Illyana.

Then someone asks the name Snowflake and Darkchild stops. She turns around to see Colossus asking if she’s Illyana. Darkchild is stunned and upset to see Peter. Colossus asks her if she’s returned to him and ask again whether she’s Illyana or not. Darkchild gets angry and shouts at him not to look at her. Then she shouts at everyone else to go away and begins teleporting everyone out of Limbo including Amanda, Lex and The Sentinel. Pixie quickly asks about her soul but disappears. Colossus is the last to be teleported while Darkchild bids him farewell.

The Xavier Institute:
A destroyed Sentinel stands out side the mansion in the dark. Inside Anole and Pixie are talking about what happened and what has happened since like how the mansion wasn’t affected by the big explosion when they were teleported, Trance woke up when they got back to Earth, Colossus wanted to go back to Limbo but Amanda Sefton told them Limbo was now sealed off, Rockslide is still made of Limbo-rock and Anole’s new arm itches. Pixie tells him that her soul itches. Santo enters the room telling them that he talked to Cyclops and Surge and he told them if there wasn’t enough room for them two on the team then he’d quite to make room. The two smile.

Limbo:
Darkchild sits on her throne in Limbo. S’ym asks her what they are going to do next. Darkchild replies that they are going to get her soul back.

Review:
A fantastic issue and a great way to end an excellent arc. Kyle and Yost have had it rough from us fans for a while for killing so many kids with potential and all along they’ve said that they have to cut down the students so they could work with a solid crew. They’ve certainly done that. Who have they got left after their blood bath? Surge, Hellion, Dust, Mercury, Rockslide, Elixir, Prodigy, X-23, Anole, Pixie, Match, Wolf Cub, Trance, Loa, Gentle, Armor, Blindfold, Bling, Onyxx, Indra, The Stepford Cuckoos, Ernst and No-Girl. I think they’ve got a great cast even though 10 of them are on the main team. This arc has been great for not only the students but for the fans. We begged them to show us more of these fantastic students and they certainly delivered with adding Anole and Pixie to the main team. I’m looking forward for their “down time” and then rushing straight into Messiah Complex. They say the affect of this crossover is going to be massive on the students. Hope they don’t kill any more of them.

Skottie Young’s art has been incredible through this arc and I’m very glad he’s staying on a couple more issues before Ramos joins the team. Haven’t decided whether that’s good or bad. It’s been great doing these - DarkBlue will be back doing New X-Men for next issue and the rest.
